Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Communications Manager to join our team at Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a key member of our Corporate Communications department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications plans to enhance our brand visibility and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Digital Communications
    • Oversee and update our corporate digital channels, including social media, to ensure all content is current and effectively communicated.
    • Monitor the corporate and broader social media landscapes, escalating significant reports as necessary.
    • Develop performance reports for digital channels, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
    • Draft and edit content for various digital communications platforms, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Corporate Communications
    • Organize and maintain corporate communication assets and materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
    • Manage the corporate communications editorial calendar, ensuring it accurately reflects key milestones and supports integrated program planning.
    • Support planning and execution of various earned media workstreams, including creative and strategic input, research, content review and approval, and editing and quality management.
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree required; journalism or communications-related discipline preferred.
    • 5 years of experience within Communications or Marketing function with focus and experience in supporting digital platforms; biotech/pharmaceutical background is strongly preferred.
    • Combination of agency and in-house experience preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital tools.
    • Self-starter, motivated, with a proven ability to find solutions and champion innovative strategies for storytelling and digital experiences.
    • Thoughtful and able to recommend and encourage the adoption of new and creative approaches to enhance our brand visibility and engagement.
    • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and execute communications initiatives in an environment with rapidly-evolving business imperatives.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through skills.
    • Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans and correlating metrics while managing competing priorities.
    • Regarded as a proven and respected communications consultant to key leaders within an organization.
    • Demonstrated business acumen and fluency in topical health care news and industry trends, as well as a deep understanding of public perception and issues as they pertain to the industry.
    • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of target audience, highly effective writing style and expertise in high-impact messaging to broad audiences.
    • Strong interest and aptitude for understanding the biopharmaceutical industry and our company, and the ability to collaborate with all personnel throughout the company, as well as external audiences.
    • Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative, and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
