Job Summary

MidLantic Urology is seeking a highly motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our urology team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
  • Interview patients to obtain updated medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking messages, and calling patients with results, providing excellent communication.
  • Prepare patients for and assist the physician with treatments or surgical procedures, including vasectomy, cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, and bladder biopsy, receiving education and training as needed.
  • Perform urinalysis, uroflow, and bladder scan, as well as administer medications (oral and injection) as needed, following established protocols.
Requirements
  • Experience and understanding of EHR/EMR systems, with the ability to operate autoclave and medical equipment.
  • Use of general office equipment, including computers and software.
  • Successful completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited school (preferred) or at least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting (preferred).
  • CPR Certification (required by start date).
  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
