- Interview patients to obtain updated medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height, maintaining accurate records.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing, adhering to strict protocols.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies, maintaining a safe and hygienic workspace.
- Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking messages, and calling patients with results, providing excellent communication skills.
- Prepare patients for and assist the physician with treatments or surgical procedures, including vasectomy, cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, and bladder biopsy, receiving education and training as needed.
- Perform urinalysis, uroflow, and bladder scan, receiving education and training as needed.
- Administer medications (oral and injection) as needed, receiving education and training as needed.
- Experience and understanding of EHR/EMR systems.
- Operate autoclave and medical equipment, receiving education and training as needed.
- Use general office equipment, demonstrating proficiency.
- Successful completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited school.
- At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
- CPR Certification.
- EMR systems: 1 year of experience.
- Vital signs: 1 year of experience.
