Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Interview patients to obtain updated medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies, maintaining a safe and hygienic workspace.
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking messages, and calling patients with results, providing excellent communication skills.
  • Prepare patients for and assist the physician with treatments or surgical procedures, including vasectomy, cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, and bladder biopsy, receiving education and training as needed.
  • Perform urinalysis, uroflow, and bladder scan, receiving education and training as needed.
  • Administer medications (oral and injection) as needed, receiving education and training as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience and understanding of EHR/EMR systems.
  • Operate autoclave and medical equipment, receiving education and training as needed.
  • Use general office equipment, demonstrating proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited school.
  • At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • CPR Certification.
  • EMR systems: 1 year of experience.
  • Vital signs: 1 year of experience.
