Job Summary

MidLantic Urology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain updated medical information and vital signs, weight, and height measurements.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate logging and preparation for testing.
  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Perform general office duties, including answering phones, taking messages, and communicating with patients regarding test results.
  • Assist physicians with treatments and surgical procedures, including vasectomy, cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, and bladder biopsy, under close supervision.
  • Administer medications, as needed, and perform urinalysis, uroflow, and bladder scan procedures, with proper education and training.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with EHR/EMR systems.
  • Ability to operate autoclave and medical equipment, with proper training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required by start date.
  • Preferred qualifications include completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited school and experience with EMR systems and vital signs measurement.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of our patients and team.
