Position Overview
This role is integral to the Lunar Transportation division, responsible for advancing Blue Origin's diverse Blue Moon lander product lines.

To realize our vision of enabling a human presence in space, we are constructing sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Key Responsibilities
As the Electrical Power Systems Architect, your primary focus will be to ensure the electrical power system delivers reliable power to various loads. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining the overall design strategy to guarantee stable power delivery.
  • Conducting bus stability analyses, encompassing both small and large signal evaluations across operational and fault scenarios.
  • Assigning stability-related requirements to active components and guiding the development team to adhere to design specifications.
  • Assisting in design risk assessments, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), and investigating test discrepancies.
  • Supporting power regulation, generation, and energy storage studies, including performance characterization and specification.
  • Engaging in program-level technology advancements, mission assurance, safety initiatives, and improvements in avionics development processes.
  • Effectively communicating development progress, risks, and challenges to management while mentoring peers and junior staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of relevant experience in power electronics hardware and electrical power systems development.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, power, and grounding principles.
  • Proficiency in DC-DC converter topologies utilized in aerospace, including circuit design, analysis, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and component selection.
  • Familiarity with common communication protocols such as RS232, RS422, I2C, SPI, LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, or PCIe.
  • A hands-on approach to work, both independently and collaboratively, throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain positive professional relationships, contributing to a collaborative culture.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and their application in space-targeted designs.
  • Expertise in energy storage and power generation solutions for space vehicles.
