POSITION SUMMARY

An Electrical Systems Technician engages in proficient mechanical and electrical tasks associated with the setup and upkeep of both high and low voltage electrical circuits and corresponding apparatus at various electrical facilities. These include but are not limited to electrical substations, customer service stations, steam generation facilities, water treatment plants, converter stations, hydroelectric facilities, and high voltage switching locations.

COMPENSATION
Annual Salary for trainee roles: $98,637 to $126,804. For fully qualified positions: $140,898 (flat-rated).

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Electrical Systems Technicians may be required to operate at heights reaching up to 280 feet, in proximity to hazardous materials, and within confined spaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute skilled mechanical and electrical operations for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols while working in diverse environments.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of six months of hands-on experience in electrical work related to equipment and circuits.
  • Completion of an approved training program in electrical construction and maintenance may be considered.
  • Possession of relevant certifications from accredited institutions is advantageous.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Applicants must hold a valid California driver's license within 30 days of appointment. Candidates with a history of significant moving violations or major infractions may be disqualified from consideration.

Successful candidates will be expected to complete an intensive training program, which may last up to 54 months, to transition into a regular Electrical Systems Technician role.
