Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid work model from designated office locations.
  • Requirement: Minimum of 2 days per week in the office, with the possibility of working up to 5 days.
  • Standard hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time on weekdays, including participation in after-hours support rotation.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute as a problem solver within our Technical Systems Support Team, delivering exceptional IT assistance to NISC clients across the nation in a collaborative environment. The technical focus of this position involves supporting and managing NISC customer systems within both Linux and Windows Server frameworks.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide support for the administration of all NISC-supported servers and desktop applications.
  • Assist members/customers in diagnosing issues and providing ongoing support.
  • Manage member/customer support through ACD and change requests until resolution.
  • Investigate technical challenges and resolve issues for members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Uphold NISC's Statement of Shared Values.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:

  • Foundational knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems setup and support.
  • Introductory knowledge of TCP/IP networks as they relate to NISC systems.
  • Familiarity with business-related software applications and services.
  • Basic understanding of project management processes and theories.
  • Introductory knowledge of the Utility or Telecom industry.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Basic presentation and training skills.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and capability to interact effectively with members.
  • Basic organizational and prioritization skills, with adaptability to change.
  • Ability to engage positively with both internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and accountability.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Education Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
