Job Overview

Toman Engineering Company is a leading consulting civil engineering and surveying services provider in Central North Dakota, with over 75 years of experience.

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Technician to support our team in various projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating survey equipment, performing routine surveying tasks, and drafting using AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather field data and conduct general surveying activities, including land and construction surveys.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, maps, and related materials, and apply this knowledge to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Prepare detailed reports and document project activities and data, ensuring timely and accurate communication with project managers and clients.
  • Assist in project design, review, and documentation, utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other software as required.
  • Support civil engineering projects and water resources studies, working closely with project managers and other team members.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with Trimble GIS survey equipment and TBC data collector software.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with a willingness to become proficient in these tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Education and Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering, surveying, or a related field.
  • Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying, and/or Drafting Technology, or currently pursuing a degree in a related field.
