Position Summary:
The Equipment Maintenance Technician I (EMT1) is an entry-level mechanical role focused on supporting the repair, upkeep, and refurbishment of solids control machinery that is neither pump nor centrifuge related.

This position involves assisting with facility projects, managing shop shipping and receiving tasks, and employing hand and power tools during maintenance and repair activities. The Equipment Maintenance Technician will typically work Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assemble and prepare machinery for installation and service.
2. Operate hot and cold-water pressure washers for equipment cleaning as necessary.
3. Support the Assistant Shop Manager with delivery tasks, including:
    a. Packing
    b. Wrapping
    c. Loading
    d. Unloading
4. Assist in various facility projects, such as:
    a. Moving items
    b. Packing boxes
    c. Cleaning
    d. Trash removal
5. Collaborate with other shop personnel on:
    a. Equipment installation
    b. Service tasks
    c. Cleaning duties
6. Install basic electrical components, including plugs, receptacles, and sensors.
7. Conduct quality assurance checks prior to equipment tagging and accurately document test results.
8. Ensure proper installation and verification of required decals before equipment dispatch.
9. Perform daily safety evaluations of forklift operations.
10. Request necessary tools, supplies, and fixtures for assigned tasks.
11. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
12. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Proficient in using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and thread gauges.
2. Ability to identify thread sizes and specifications of various fasteners.
3. Skilled in operating a range of hand and power tools.
4. Capable of operating equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
5. Must possess fluency in English (Spanish is advantageous).
6. Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
7. Mechanically inclined with familiarity in using hand tools.
8. Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members.
9. Ability to comprehend and execute routine oral and written instructions.
10. Understanding of proper fastener installation and torque specifications.

Education and Experience:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
2. Familiarity with fastener installation and torque specifications.
3. Preferred experience of 1+ year in a maintenance and repair setting.
4. Forklift and overhead crane certifications are preferred (on-site certification available).
