Job Summary

Pathways LA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Early Care and Education Programs to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of developmentally-appropriate, high-quality community-based full-inclusion Child Care Center programs. This includes ensuring compliance with center-based regulations, focusing on Community Care Licensing compliance, funding terms and operations compliance, business operations, pedagogy of centers, staff development, program quality enhancement, and liaison with partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the administration of developmentally-appropriate, high-quality community-based full-inclusion Child Care Center programs.
Ensure compliance with center-based regulations, including Community Care Licensing compliance, funding terms and operations compliance, business operations, pedagogy of centers, staff development, program quality enhancement, and liaison with partner agencies.
Oversee the business operations of the center-based programs, including ensuring that the physical facilities are safe, clean, attractive and in compliance with all health, fire, and safety codes, licensing regulations, and contractual agreements.
Implement a high-quality pedagogy program for the center-based programs, ensuring that curriculum is implemented according to "Best Practices" in Child Development, current field practices, and in accordance with the Early Education and Support Division of the California Department of Education requirements.
Ensure that ongoing developmental assessments, screenings, and family needs assessments are conducted according to required practice, and that the care, safety and well-being of all children at the center are ensured.
Maintain staff and children's files in compliance with PATHWAYS personnel policy, Community Care Licensing requirements, and any other contractual agreements.
Conduct and lead regular staff meetings, and exhibit responsible participation in all PATHWAYS LA meetings including trainings and management meetings.
Work with senior leadership to prepare annual budget and required monthly reports, ensuring that program meets budget goals for staffing and operational expenses.
Serve as agency liaison with community organizations, partner agencies, and funders, seeking out, developing, and maintaining relationships with key contractors, community partners, potential funders and sponsors that can enhance center-based services, agency visibility, and leverage creative opportunities.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Child Development, Early Care and Education, required, Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 24 units in child development, at least 3 units in infant development, 3 units in child care administration, and 16 General Education units.
Pediatric CPR and first aid certification, TB clearance, and required Community Care Licensing vaccinations.
Minimum five years' experience working with children ages 0-5 in a licensed classroom setting required, experience working with children with special needs preferred.
Experience in Early Childhood Education program management and staff supervision, including design and implementation of developmentally appropriate environments and curriculum for infants and toddlers with special needs, and provision of parent support and education.
Conducting developmental assessments and developmental screenings, knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching practices, and demonstrated knowledge of family services, child care, and early education, services for low-income/vulnerable populations or related content areas, preferred.
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills, and at least 3 years of experience managing staff.
Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer, and must present proof of having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
