Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Front Office Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at the University of California. In this role, you will provide administrative and patient care support to assigned clinics, ensuring smooth outpatient flow and optimum patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge.
  • Work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow.
  • Register/check-in patients by verifying demographic and insurance information.
  • Update registration information in Care Connect.
  • Confirm PCP, referring physician, preferred pharmacy, and preferred form of communication.
  • Review patient referral forms and fill out intake information.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with physicians and staff in a high-volume setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Skill in efficiently and accurately facilitating the appointment-making process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with staff from various clinical services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skill in using a PC with associated programs, including Word, Excel, and Email.
  • Skill in demonstrating work experience with a database computer program.
  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
