Position: Financial Recovery Services Coordinator

Role Overview: The Financial Recovery Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Financial Recovery Department by managing member delinquencies and overseeing collection activities. This position is responsible for updating and generating departmental reports on a regular basis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update various reports and tracking systems, ensuring all departmental Board reports are completed accurately.
  • Oversee the management of Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) with the vendor, including the posting of premiums, refunds, and verification of payment modifications.
  • Handle all eOscar requests related to credit reporting disputes.
  • Manage daily reports for accounts that have been charged off, collaborating with the Accounting Department and providing necessary updates to collection agencies.
  • Monitor reports and follow up on account maintenance for rejected loan payments and returned transactions.
  • Act as the primary administrative contact for credit life and disability claims, facilitating communication between vendors and members.
  • Provide backup support for repossession processes as needed.
  • Assist department staff by offering administrative support, including member interactions, maintaining departmental files, and processing correspondence related to collections.
  • Conduct research and analysis on historical data for overdue accounts, compiling reports for management as required.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Metrics:

  1. Ensure timely communication with members regarding relevant credit union matters.
  2. Maintain accurate records of all collection and recovery activities.
  3. Prepare and manage reports in a timely and precise manner.
  4. Stay informed about the credit union's loan standards and adhere to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  5. Provide professional assistance and support to all members and associates, resolving inquiries promptly and courteously.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1 to 3 years in a similar or related role.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Interpersonal Skills: This role involves interaction with individuals beyond immediate colleagues, requiring effective communication and information exchange.
  • Other Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); adept with 10-key calculator and keyboard skills; intermediate math skills for calculations involving decimals, percentages, and fractions.

Work Environment: Occasional exposure to dust; local travel may be required.
