Job Overview

As a CNC Milling Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce high-quality firearm components. Your role is crucial in ensuring precision and efficiency in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • CNC Machine Operation: Manage the operation of multiple CNC mills, adapting to production needs and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts using established checklists and quality control diagrams. Address any discrepancies and communicate issues to supervisors as necessary.
  • Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and machines. Perform minor maintenance tasks, including checking coolant levels and lubricating moving parts.
  • Parts Accountability: Accurately log production data, including counts of produced parts and scrap, ensuring reliable records for management review.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to support various tasks and contribute to overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of CNC milling principles and operations.
  • Experience with CNC machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with HAAS controls is advantageous.
  • Proficient in measurement techniques using calipers and micrometers.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience with firearm components is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Forklift operation experience is a plus; training will be provided.
  • Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screenings.
Working Conditions
  • Standard 40-hour workweek, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required by production demands.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, as climate control may be limited.
  • Noise levels can be high; hearing and eye protection will be provided.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy materials, including chip cans and pallets.
  • Capability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks at heights.
  • Physical stamina to engage in repetitive tasks and manage the demands of a manufacturing environment.
