Automated Sanding Technician

We are seeking a skilled professional to operate advanced sanding machines, ensuring smooth, precise finishes on metal parts while optimizing machine performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program and set up automated sanding machines for metal finishing.
  • Adjust machine settings to achieve desired finishes on various types of metals.
  • Monitor machine performance during production runs to ensure the sanding process meets product specifications and quality standards.
  • Inspect metal workpieces for surface defects, ensuring proper smoothness and adherence to dimensional tolerances.
  • Perform regular maintenance, including changing sanding belts and ensuring lubrication of machine components.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of machine settings, production output, and any maintenance performed.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and protocols, especially regarding handling metal materials and machinery.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in sanding and sanding machine operation.
  • Experience with automated machinery and metalworking techniques.
  • Ability to work in a smoke-free environment and wear steel toe shoes.
  • Manual lifting up to 50lbs and working up to 4 hours of overtime per week.
Skills:
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Sanding (2 years of experience required).
  • Sanding machine operation (2 years of experience required).
  • CNC.
  • Metalworking.
  • Finishing.
  • Fabrication.
  • CAD.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience level: Experienced.
