  • Conduct simulations and test runs to validate the accuracy of CNC programs prior to full-scale production.
  • Oversee setup through first article inspection.
  • Perform program editing directly at the work center/machine.

Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve programming, tooling, or machining challenges that arise during production.
  • Adjust existing programs to correct errors, enhance efficiency, or accommodate design modifications.

Documentation:

  • Maintain precise and organized records of CNC programs, tool selections, machining parameters, and any modifications for future reference.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, machining technologies, and software advancements to propose and implement process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide insights during the design phase to optimize manufacturability.

Quality Control:

  • Perform regular quality assessments on machined components to ensure compliance with specified standards and make necessary program adjustments if deviations are observed.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100 standards is a plus.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow safety protocols and standards while operating CNC machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulations regarding machining operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a machinist.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for generating tool paths (e.g., SolidWorks, CAMWorks, MasterCAM, etc.).
  • Strong grasp of machining principles, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and material properties.
  • Knowledge of programming languages utilized in CNC machining (G-code, M-code, etc.).
  • Problem-solving abilities to diagnose and troubleshoot machining issues while editing programs at the machine.
  • Attention to detail and precision to ensure the accurate production of components.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects concurrently.
