Lead Formulation Scientist, Global Pharma Solutions

Ingredion is seeking a Senior Formulation Scientist II to enhance the design and commercialization of innovative products and solutions, while also addressing challenges with existing products and manufacturing processes within the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical sectors. The selected candidate will work collaboratively to deliver multidisciplinary application and product development under applied research and development initiatives in the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Excipient domains, executing defined scopes with a degree of autonomy. This position will also involve the advancement of laboratory and pilot plant capabilities within the organization, including providing necessary education, training, and technical support to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Business, Regulatory, Marketing, Technical Service, and other cross-functional teams to facilitate new product development and customer application projects in these sectors, while offering application expertise to these teams.
- Conducting experiments and trials in the laboratory and pilot plant, performing data analysis to derive conclusions and recommendations, and developing methods for finished applications to evaluate the performance of Excipients and other Pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical technologies.
- Creating and delivering technical presentations to key stakeholders and external clients.
- Preparing technical project reports and presentations, providing updates on project status, plans, milestones, and outcomes to team members and stakeholders as necessary.
- Conducting prior art and literature searches relevant to projects and maintaining appropriate records to support intellectual property development and patent applications.
- Building relationships with project teams to ensure alignment on scope and timely completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- MS/BS degree in Industrial Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related fields with 3-7+ years of relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Nutraceutical industry.
- Proven experience in product and application development or practical knowledge in areas such as Tableting, Soft-gel/Hard-gel Capsule Applications, and syrup formulation.
- Innovative problem solver with a passion for invention and creativity.
- Experience in pilot plant and manufacturing support is advantageous.
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and result interpretation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce technical reports and deliver impactful presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functions, influencing stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.
