Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Professional Staff Nurse to join our team at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. About the Role:

This is a full-time position working Casual shifts on our PCU unit. We offer a competitive salary of $85,000-$115,000 per year, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including vital signs, medication administration, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the unit.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure informed decision-making and effective care coordination.

Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited Bachelor's or Master's program in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania
  • 1-2 years of experience in critical care nursing, preferably in a similar setting
  • Strong clinical skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
