Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at UPMC - Pittsburgh Medical Center. As an EMT, you will play a vital role in providing emergency medical care to patients in critical situations.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in ambulance and/or hospital settings and hold certifications such as Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for this role.

About the Role

This position requires the availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the successful candidate will be required to obtain Emergency Vehicle Operator certification within 90 days of hire. The salary range for this position is $17.38-$27.36 per hour based on experience, with opportunities for career advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain transport vehicles in efficient operating condition and ensure equipment is clean and properly maintained.
  • Assist in moving patients and provide support during emergency calls.
  • Communicate effectively with medical direction and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
  • Document patient care and incident reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Interact with various groups and individuals utilizing excellent customer service skills.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous ambulance and/or hospital experience preferred.
  • Certifications such as AEMT, BLS, and CPR are highly desirable.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance are required.
