About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clean Energy Manager to join our team at the Federation of American Scientists (FAS). As a key member of our clean energy team, you will be responsible for overseeing work and teammates spanning the federal clean energy workforce and talent pipeline, clean energy innovation, and related implementation activities aligned to clean energy legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key point of contact for FAS' current and future clean energy implementation work
  • Lead team members in support of FAS implementation priorities, including but not limited to the implementation of legislative measures, market-shaping mechanisms, and climate tipping points
  • Manage and develop projects related to stakeholder engagement and regional clean energy development
  • Spearhead outreach and stakeholder engagement with the Department of Energy (DOE), translating insights into specific priority opportunities for FAS and its clean energy portfolio
  • Build and oversee project plans, setting timelines and milestones, and involving stakeholders to ensure on-time and impactful deliverables
  • Support strategic management of FAS' clean energy portfolio in collaboration with the Associate Director, Clean Energy to manage the direction of activities and programmatic priorities
  • Develop proposals for funders on new activities, as well as identifying new opportunities to grow clean energy work and research policy priorities
  • Support the development and execution of strategic communications to raise the profile of the portfolio
  • Identify customers and audiences and design products to reach them aligned to project goals
  • Collaborate with leadership to build and manage project budgets
  • Oversee resource allocation for projects and team members
  • Delegate work to team members to fulfill portfolio needs
Work Environment

This position will be a hybrid role, meaning that both remote and in-person work can be accommodated, generally two to three days per week on-site, and two to three days per week remote depending on the needs of the organization.

Salary Range
  • $70,000 - $87,500
