Position Overview

As a Financial Account Specialist at Accountants on Air, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring accurate reporting. Your expertise will contribute to the overall efficiency of our accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Reconciliation: Ensure accuracy by reconciling client accounts and addressing any discrepancies that arise.
  • Accrual Accounting: Execute accrual accounting tasks, including the calculation and documentation of month-end accruals and necessary adjusting entries.
  • Data Management: Conduct precise data entry and uphold accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and Xero.
  • Administrative Support: Provide essential administrative assistance, including organizing and filing financial documents.
  • Asset Management: Prepare and maintain the fixed asset register and debt schedules.
  • Financial Close Assistance: Support the monthly financial close process, which includes the preparation of financial statements.
  • Data Handling: Manage client data and generate comprehensive financial reports.
  • Training Participation: Attend training sessions to remain informed about industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements and offer recommendations for enhancements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry developments and changes in accounting regulations.
  • Project Assistance: Contribute to ad hoc projects and assignments as required.
  • Transaction Recording: Record and reconcile financial transactions, including invoices, bills, checks, sales, purchases, and expenses, in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Accounts Management: Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing and filing tax forms, such as 1099s and local tax returns.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Annual Statements: Aid in the preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow company policies and instructions to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the assistant manager and team members to ensure timely and accurate financial information reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero.
  • Strong data entry skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Technologically adept with experience in software such as Microsoft 365 and Slack.
