Role Overview:

The Regulated Entities Controllers group within the Chief Accounting Office is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality accounting and reporting services to our business partners. As a vital member of our team, you will engage with various legal entities across multiple jurisdictions, collaborate with diverse teams, and spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end closing process for multiple financial products and legal entities, including expense and accrual analysis, variance analysis, and journal entry preparation.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis across various legal entities.
  • Calculate intercompany fees per governing agreements and coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely intercompany billing and settlements.
  • Prepare regulatory reports for submission to various regulatory authorities.
  • Draft annual financial statements with accompanying footnotes in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support year-end audits by ensuring all necessary work is completed and addressing auditors' inquiries and follow-up items.
  • Maintain up-to-date internal controls documentation and ensure effective operation of controls.
  • Lead the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.
  • Handle ad hoc requests and contribute to special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles, particularly US GAAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks for both self and team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA (or equivalent) or in progress.
  • Experience in public accounting.
  • Background in the financial services industry.
  • Specific experience with broker-dealer or other regulated entity regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar accounting systems.
