Asphalt Green, a leading non-profit organization focused on sports and fitness, is seeking an experienced Managing Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of one of our NYC locations.
About the RoleThe Managing Director will be responsible for leading all on-site day-to-day operations and programs while overseeing the employee population. This includes providing strategic direction and leadership for the facility and its staff, ensuring the campus fulfills Asphalt Green's mission and serves the needs of the surrounding community.

- Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of the facility's operations, including membership, customer experience, programs, and staff supervision.
- Financial Acumen: Develop, manage, and achieve annual budgets, balancing revenue generation with community benefit goals.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local residents, elected officials, community boards, and partner organizations. Represent Asphalt Green at quarterly Community Advisory Committee meetings.
- Facility Management: Collaborate with the Property Manager to ensure the facility's smooth operation, addressing maintenance and security concerns.
- Team Leadership: Provide coaching, supervision, and professional development for on-site staff across Operations, Membership, Customer Experience, and Programs departments.
- Communication: Effectively communicate updates and priorities to both internal and external stakeholders.
- 7 years + experience in a leadership role at a community center, school setting, parks and recreation department, fitness center, or athletic department
- Proven track record of success in managing budgets and achieving financial objectives
- Strong understanding of community engagement principles and experience working collaboratively with diverse populations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
