Position: Compensation and Benefits Coordinator
Hourly Rate: $23.50
Location: Remote
We are seeking a detail-oriented Compensation and Benefits Coordinator who will oversee all facets of payroll management, ensuring the accuracy of timekeeping and timely disbursement of salaries. The successful candidate will provide vital administrative support by managing attendance records, processing payroll changes, maintaining documentation, and facilitating communication within the HR Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the precision of timesheets submitted by various departments weekly and reach out to supervisors or employees to resolve discrepancies.
- Administer electronic timekeeping systems effectively.
- Accurately input data into the payroll system, including employee tax information, exemptions, transfers, and terminations as they occur.
- Address payroll discrepancies by reviewing historical records and implementing necessary wage corrections or adjustments.
- Monitor employee absences using payroll software, documenting personal days, sick leave, jury duty, or extended leaves; manage vacation accruals, approve or deny time-off requests, and maintain vacation schedules.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, leave balances, tax documentation, and other compensation-related matters.
- Assist in the orientation process for new hires.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in payroll administration is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment and payroll taxation.
- Strong numerical and accounting skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail is required.
- Experience in a unionized workplace is advantageous.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required; a relevant degree or coursework in advanced mathematics, finance, accounting, business, or a related field is preferred.
