The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in-person courses in microbiology, cellular/molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry, as well as introductory biology courses in the general education curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in biology or a related field, with an emphasis in cellular/molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and/or biochemistry. A promising research agenda that supports undergraduate education is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 units of undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester, prepare and teach undergraduate lecture and lab biology courses, advise and mentor undergraduate students in the biology major, provide department support for curriculum design, assessment for degree program, and student recruitment, serve on faculty committees, and attend department meetings and professional development activities. The successful candidate will also be expected to ensure the timely completion of assessments, grades, and other reports.
