Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is properly operating and maintaining, repairing, and keeping downtime to a minimum
  • Supervise the maintenance team and assist in tasks when needed
  • Lead the team in effective decision-making regarding safety, production, and goals of the plant
  • Order parts when necessary and train employees on proper equipment usage
  • Input and maintain inventory information in computer systems
  • Maintain maintenance budget records and shipping and receiving UPS, Feeder, etc.
  • Attend departmental and other essential meetings as required
  • Organize and maintain inventory and determine obsolete inventory
  • Work with present suppliers on negotiating price and delivery and seeking alternative suppliers
  • Assist with parts room inventory and assist manager and superintendent on cost-saving ideas
  • Responsible for all inventory cost data and work closely with Maintenance Manager in developing budgets
  • Conduct research, simulations, and comparisons as needed and develop and implement new reporting tools
  • Propose technical and organizational improvements to line management
  • Be involved in trials and organize team output
  • Plan and schedule workforce consistent with production requirements
  • Apply environmental regulations and ensure they are respected
  • Propose improvements and apply safety rules
  • Participate in analyzing occupational hazards and preventing potential risks

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school
  • 5-6 years' experience in a maintenance department or equivalent
  • 5-6 years' management experience
  • Computer software skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus, Kronos, Ultraware, Syswin, and AB software
  • Food manufacturing experience and management skills
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and work well with others
  • Effective communication abilities in both written and verbal
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems, word processing, and data spreadsheets
  • Strong ability to listen to personnel over maintenance concerns and displays good math, technical, and decision-making skills
