Role Summary:

We are seeking a Residential Coordinator who is passionate about working with youth from challenging backgrounds and who have faced significant trauma. This role is crucial in creating a structured, nurturing, and educational environment while managing daily schedules and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning atmosphere for youth by implementing the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) model.
  • Assist the case manager in helping youth achieve treatment objectives, including academic support, self-regulation, and personal hygiene.
  • Organize daily schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and commitments.
  • Contribute to the development of healthy meal plans, oversee grocery shopping, and assist in meal preparation under the guidance of the program coordinator.
  • Demonstrate and teach healthy relationship-building, self-management, and coping strategies to teens.
  • Facilitate engaging recreational activities, outings, and social interactions.
  • Implement crisis intervention and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of both youth and staff.
  • Transport youth to various appointments, school, and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Support the mission of ensuring every child has a loving family.
  • Adhere to the requirement of 24-hour awake supervision.
  • Administer medication and maintain precise medication records.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the residence, reporting any issues as needed.
  • Document shift activities thoroughly and communicate youth needs with supervisors and other shifts in accordance with licensing standards.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed perspective in all interactions with youth.
  • Ensure regulated and appropriate communication with youth at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in a human services field is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to drive during nighttime hours.
  • Physically capable of performing authorized crisis intervention techniques, cooking, cleaning, participating in activities, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Experience with TBRI, SAMA, and crisis intervention techniques is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in trauma-informed care and adept at addressing the complex needs of vulnerable youth.
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or at-risk youth, ideally in a residential context.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work during holidays, inclement weather, and additional shifts as required.
  • Strong time management skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High standards of confidentiality, trustworthiness, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
