Position Overview

Role Summary: The Intake Specialist is essential in managing referrals and facilitating the placement of youth within the Agency, collaborating with TDFPS and various organizations. This role is pivotal in enhancing the welfare of children, engaging in team meetings and training, and coordinating with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and assess youth referrals and intake documentation from DFPS personnel.
  • Coordinate suitable placements for youth in licensed and trained facilities, adhering to required timelines.
  • Address crisis situations and emergencies reported to the intake line.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field is mandatory.

Professional Experience: At least one year of experience working with children, youth, and families within the foster care system or similar environments, along with familiarity with regulations governing residential services.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with youth, families, and community professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create systems that ensure compliance.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and application of Trauma-Informed Care principles.

Work Environment:
