Your Role at BHSN:

As a Family Support Respite Provider at BHSN, you will provide direct supervision and support to children, relieving stress for parents and facilitating effective problem-solving. You will also engage children in meaningful activities, promote emotional regulation, and model positive behavioral outcomes.

What your day might look like:
  • Providing direct supervision and support to children, including coaching emotional regulation techniques and role-modeling positive behavioral outcomes
  • Facilitating engagement in meaningful play, recreational, and work activities to promote positive emotional states
  • Responding quickly and effectively in crisis situations to de-escalate and prevent ECC presentations/hospital admissions
  • Maintaining client confidentiality and confidential health information
  • Additional duties as assigned
Your Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to understand severe emotional disturbances and interact with psychologically impaired children in a therapeutic manner
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of children and their families to inform service planning and delivery
  • Valid NYS driver's license and a driving record acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier
  • Possession of a vehicle deemed safe to transport children, with current registration, inspection, and insurance, and willingness to use own vehicle
