Position Overview

The role encompasses the comprehensive management of engineering projects from the initial proposal stage through to construction completion. Responsibilities include supervising all technical facets of airport and site development initiatives, ensuring quality control and assurance of all documentation, and coordinating with engineers and sub-consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee the design and management of engineering projects related to airport and site development, ensuring accuracy and completeness in design efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to finalize various design components, systems, and structures, adhering to specified objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including plans, specifications, and engineering estimates, while organizing and assembling project data.
  • Evaluate and adapt standard techniques and procedures to project needs, addressing and solving any arising issues.
  • Manage multiple projects of varying sizes, ensuring efficient use of time to meet budgetary constraints and deadlines.
  • Develop proposals, including bid documents and project reports, for review and submission.
  • Participate in project meetings, presenting key aspects of engineering assignments and initiatives.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative tasks with internal departments and disciplines involved in the project.
  • Ensure compliance of engineering activities with company and contract standards, supporting overall project schedules, scopes, and budgets.
  • Interpret contract specifications and resolve disputes with contractors regarding specifications, workmanship, and material quality.
  • Maintain a record of project milestones and current issues.
  • Prepare monthly status reports and manage change orders.
  • Engage in client and contractor meetings to address project-related concerns.
  • Develop project scopes, tasks, budgets, and timelines.

Business Development:

  • Support marketing and business development efforts.
  • Engage in industry forums and networking opportunities.
  • Identify potential clients and foster relationships with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clients, officials, contractors, and project team members to ensure project success.
  • Prepare scope and fee proposals for client review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with stormwater modeling software.
  • Competence in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of Federal and State funding and approval processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive client information.
  • Proficient in English, with strong skills in spelling, grammar, and vocabulary.

Licensure:

  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Preferred: Florida Professional Engineer licensure, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The role typically takes place in a comfortable office setting, with occasional site visits in outdoor environments. While nights and weekends are generally not required, they may be necessary on short notice.

Physical Requirements:

Regular communication is required, and the employee may need to sit for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of up to 40 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Personal Protective Equipment:

As per client site protocols, the candidate will be required to use appropriate personal protective equipment.
