Role Summary:
The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting and managing the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This includes overseeing benefits and leave administration, onboarding processes, HRIS management, training initiatives, wellness programs, employee engagement activities, associate relations, performance management, recruitment efforts, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee benefit administration, including open enrollment, new hire onboarding, and compliance with various state leave laws.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes efficiently, while suggesting improvements to enhance these procedures.
- Assist in recruitment efforts, including conducting pre-employment screenings and verifying employee eligibility.
- Address day-to-day inquiries from employees, escalating complex or sensitive issues as necessary.
- Maintain records of training, continuing education, and performance assessments, including safety and professional training.
- Administer T-Cetra's wellness initiatives and provide recommendations for program enhancements.
- Organize employee engagement events, such as team lunches, health fairs, and recognition ceremonies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, maintaining necessary documentation and reviewing policies regularly.
- Support the annual performance management cycle, including communication and training for team members.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, following all relevant retention laws.
- Provide HR guidance and support to various departments regarding HR-related processes.
- Assist with sensitive situations, including investigations and disciplinary actions, as required.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources and employment law.
- Perform general office duties that contribute to a positive employee experience.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a human resources generalist role.
- PHR/SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Capability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
- Ability to navigate various departments within the organization.
