At Apple, we're looking for a skilled Electromechanical Systems Designer to join our Haptic Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing innovative haptic solutions that are central to Apple's products, such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple Pencil. You will work on development of haptic actuator architecture, including concept generation, detailed design, modeling, design for manufacturing, and engineering build and validation. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Generating concepts and solutions to multi-disciplinary haptic related challenges
  • Performing mechanical, magnetic, and electro-mechanical modeling to evaluate and optimize concepts and designs
  • Prototyping, evaluating, and debugging innovative ideas
  • Designing and defining mechanical components and assembly schemes
  • Defining detailed specifications and engineering requirements
  • Participating in the development of new manufacturing and assembly processes with external vendors
  • Validating and characterizing designs through multiple iterations
  • Conducting failure analysis and design of experiments (DOEs) to resolve root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Generating new intellectual property

Key Qualifications:

  • Actuator system design experience is a plus
  • Hands-on detailed product design experience in consumer electronics products is a plus
  • Experience with mass production and design for manufacturing is a plus

The salary range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200 per year. You'll also receive comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses.
