At Apple, we're seeking a talented Camera Hardware Engineer to join our team in Cupertino, California. This is an exciting opportunity to design and develop innovative camera technology for our products.

We offer a competitive salary of $143,100 - $264,200 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, you'll also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through our discretionary employee stock programs.

About the Role:

This position involves designing and developing groundbreaking ideas for our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for our products. We're looking for someone who can help us craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine component-level requirements and develop schematic designs for innovative camera modules.
  • Analyze circuit parasitics and tolerances to ensure correct operation over specified voltage and temperature ranges.
  • Supervise layout for PCB, Flex, and substrates.
  • Familiarity with challenges relating to power quality, high-speed signal integrity, and control interface.
  • Author clear and comprehensive electrical documentation for design and manufacturing partners.
  • Collaborate with X-functional teams to simulate, test, and validate performance of all designs.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design, including schematics capture and supervising layout for substrate, rigid PCB, or Flex.
  • Knowledge of signal and power integrity (high-speed design, PDN analysis).
  • System integration knowledge for grounding, shielding, EMI, EMC, and ESD.
  • PREFERRED: 3+ years of relevant work experience and familiarity with high-speed interfaces (MIPI, DisplayPort, HDMI, PCIe), circuits and designs (LDO, Buck, ADC, DAC, Op-AMP), and control interface like I2C, SPI, SPMI, UART.
