Electromagnetic Design and Development Expert

Apple's Haptic Engineering team seeks an Electromagnetic Design and Development Expert to contribute to the development of innovative haptic technology and actuators. As a key member of our team, you'll design, develop, and deliver haptic solutions that enhance user experience across Apple's products.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hands-on environment with multi-disciplinary teams, leveraging your expertise in electromagnetism and mechanical design to drive innovation. You'll participate in concept generation, detailed design, modeling, and testing of haptic actuator architectures, ensuring manufacturability and quality.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement novel haptic actuator designs, collaborating with system engineering groups to define experience goals
  • Communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams through regular written, verbal, and presentation updates
  • Lead design reviews and documentation releases to drive project success

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong background in mechanics, magnetic or motor design, and electrical circuits
  • Experience with FEA, 3D CAD, 2D drafting, GD&T, and tolerance analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actuator system design experience
  • Hands-on product design experience in consumer electronics

Benefits and Compensation

As an Electromagnetic Design and Development Expert, you can expect a base salary range of $175,800 - $312,200 per year, depending on your skills and qualifications. Our comprehensive compensation package includes medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and discounted products and services. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, relocation assistance, and educational reimbursement.
