Job Summary:

To oversee the cleanliness and appearance of all guest rooms and public areas, ensuring that all personnel are performing their job duties up to the standards of Holiday Inn. Responsible for all room inspections, cleanliness, reporting, and communication with the Maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Room Assignments and Scheduling: Create daily assignments for housekeepers and plan the day's activities for all staff in the department.
  • Supervision and Monitoring: Supervise, monitor, and follow up on the duties of Room Attendants, Houseman, Laundry, and Night Houseman to maintain company productivity standards.
  • Communication and Reporting: Communicate with the Maintenance department regarding needed repairs and ensure that all guest rooms are inspected daily to meet cleanliness standards.
  • Lost and Found: List, itemize, and store lost and found items, maintaining the company-approved Lost and Found log.
  • Room Condition and Occupancy: Check all vacant rooms for condition and possible occupancy, reporting any discrepancies to Management.
  • Storage Areas: Supervise the condition of all storage areas, ensuring they are kept clean, orderly, and stocked with necessary items.
  • Valuable Items: Report and deliver valuable items found to Management as soon as possible.
  • Adherence to Company Policies: Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including those contained in the employee handbook.
  • Employee Development: Coach and counsel employees to encourage positive behaviors and correct negative behaviors.
  • Training and Development: Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve work-related goals and ensure staff continues to learn the importance of excellent service.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all required administrative paperwork.
  • Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require standing, walking, lifting, and moving up to 75 pounds, and working on feet for extended hours.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Experience: Must have extensive knowledge of hotel housekeeping and cleaning techniques, with a minimum of 3 years of hotel operations experience.
  • Language Skills: Must be able to read, interpret, and write routine reports, correspondence, and business letters in English.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and calculate figures and amounts.
