Senior Accountant Opportunity

The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting functions, maintain internal controls, and manage financial accounting, grants administration, and financial policies. This position will report to the Executive Director and have a dotted line to the Interim/Fractional CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations and reports
  • Manage payroll, expenses, bank reconciliations, and general ledger
  • Assist in financial reporting for the Board and Leadership
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate audits and tax filings
  • Monitor grant compliance and reporting
  • Develop proposal budgets
  • Track restricted assets and personnel allocations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of finance management experience, with 5+ years of increasing responsibility
  • Nonprofit accounting expertise, including GAAP, FASB, and IRS regulations
  • Strong internal control and budget development skills
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in cross-departmental collaboration
