The Labor and Delivery Department at Trinity Health provides care for patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The department is equipped with 15 labor rooms, 8 triage areas, 3 surgical suites, and 12 high-risk antepartum beds.

Position Summary:


The Registered Nurse (RN), adhering to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will deliver care in a manner that respects each individual's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

The Staff RN is responsible for providing patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of Trinity Health.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patient care for a designated group of patients, employing evidence-based practices; assist providers with patient assessments, examinations, and treatments; perform basic medical procedures under supervision.
  • Administer medications as directed by the provider, following organizational standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in emergency situations under the guidance of the provider.
  • Educate and explain procedures to patients and their families (diagnosis, disease process, etc.).
  • Accurately document relevant assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in line with documentation standards.
  • Assume responsibility for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation and supervision of other team members.
  • Basic computer skills required; prior experience with electronic medical records preferred.
