Position Summary

Decypher is in search of qualified Physician Assistant candidates to support the DHA MQS contract. The ideal candidate will meet the educational, skill, and experience requirements outlined in the contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive Physician Assistant services in both primary and specialized medical care, adhering to the training and privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Effectively manage and provide care for a range of health conditions, including acute, chronic, and minor injuries, while recognizing emergency situations.
  • Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients, referring complex cases to appropriate medical personnel as necessary.
  • Provide technical direction and education to other staff members, facilitating in-service training and educational sessions.
  • Encourage preventive healthcare and wellness, including annual check-ups and promoting healthy lifestyle choices through both group and individual counseling.
  • Prescribe medications and immunizations in accordance with established treatment protocols and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee guidelines.
  • Assess medical issues and determine suitable actions, including referrals to physicians when needed.
  • Conduct specific diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to enhance primary care services.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and personal responsibility for wellness.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss cases, pursue continuing education, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide Physician Assistant services in support of Deployment Related Health Assessments (DRHA) as required.

Qualifications

Degree: Master of Science in Medicine.

Education: Graduate from an accredited institution recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Experience: Must meet clinical competency requirements as specified in service-specific credentialing guidelines, with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant within the last three years.

Licensure: Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship and active NACI clearance are required.
