Position Summary
As a key member of the reliability team at J & J Worldwide Services, you will act as the primary authority in condition monitoring (CM) technologies, offering expert guidance and technical support to enhance our reliability initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of reliability analysts, ensuring the adoption of best practices and fostering technical skill development.
- Design and execute tailored condition monitoring programs that align with the specific requirements of our organization and its equipment assets.
- Employ advanced nondestructive testing methodologies and tools to evaluate the integrity and performance of critical components across various CM domains.
- Analyze data from multiple condition monitoring sources, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasonic testing, to detect trends, anomalies, and potential failures.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to prioritize maintenance tasks, enhance asset performance, and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses to uncover the underlying reasons for equipment failures and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
- Champion reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives, including the formulation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to boost asset reliability and lifespan.
- Stay informed about industry innovations, emerging technologies, and best practices in reliability engineering to continually refine processes and methodologies.
- Develop and facilitate training sessions and workshops to improve the knowledge and skills of reliability team members and stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison with external vendors, contractors, and industry specialists to leverage additional expertise and resources as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in utilizing condition monitoring tools, software, and data analysis techniques.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to inspire and motivate team members towards shared objectives.
- Robust problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Effective communication abilities, both verbal and written, with the capability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Dedication to safety, quality, and principles of continuous improvement.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in condition monitoring, reliability engineering, or a related field.
Educational Background and Certifications
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma.
- Certification from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level 2 or equivalent in a CM specialty area.
- International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Category 3 certification.
- ASNT Level 1 certification or equivalent in at least one additional secondary CM technology.
