About the Role:
The Career and Technical Education Associate will play a vital role in supporting the CTE coordinator in delivering career and technical education services to youth. This includes assisting with the attainment of industry certifications, arranging enrollment opportunities in in-demand CTE programs at local technical colleges, and providing support for soft skill credentials such as Florida Ready to Work, OSHA training, and First Aid/CPR training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the CTE coordinator in providing career and technical education services to youth.
- Support the attainment of industry certifications and arrange enrollment opportunities in in-demand CTE programs.
- Provide support for soft skill credentials such as Florida Ready to Work, OSHA training, and First Aid/CPR training.
- Collaborate with the CTE coordinator to develop and implement education and training programs.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of education and training programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local technical colleges and industry partners to ensure access to in-demand CTE programs.
- Provide support for youth in obtaining employment and career advancement opportunities.
Requirements:
- An associate degree in a related field and one year of experience working with youth in an organized activity setting, or a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working with youth in a residential setting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid state ID or driver's license in the state where the work site is located.
- May be required to assist with ratio coverage if necessary.
- Must be able to respond to the facility with minimal notification for emergency response or operational support.
- Must be able to intervene with individuals engaged in a physical altercation or attempting self-harm, physically prevent an escape, and/or offer immediate pursuit of an escaped youth.
