Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team at VCA Lecanto Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate patient care, client education, and communication. You will work closely with our veterinarians and other support staff to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate patient care, including anesthesia and surgery assisting, radiology, dentistry, catheter placement, venipuncture, laboratory work, and pharmacy services.
- Assist with client education and communication, including providing information on animal health and wellness.
- Participate in patient assessment, including taking vital signs and monitoring patient condition.
- Assist with medical recordkeeping, including updating patient records and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or technician in training.
- Positive and motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
