Position Summary:
The Operations Support Manager in Training is responsible for overseeing and guiding team members in their daily tasks, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage team members to meet production objectives, manage inventory effectively, and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Conduct both informal and formal evaluations of team performance.
- Clearly communicate expectations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Participate in the recruitment and development processes for new associates.
- Monitor and maintain key performance indicators.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and assist in the formulation and implementation of production strategies.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of all necessary materials and equipment, including personal protective gear, tools, and chemicals, utilizing the supply ordering system.
- Support sales, business office, and purchasing teams as required.
- Ensure adherence to all risk management protocols, including loss prevention, facility upkeep, and health and safety regulations.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead a team towards achieving production targets.
- Capable of reading, interpreting, and documenting data to maintain accurate records.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interactions with customers and team members.
- Proficient in various computer applications and proprietary software.
Work Environment:
- Combination of indoor and outdoor settings; may involve exposure to noisy environments and adverse weather conditions.
- Requires prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Flexible work schedules, including potential shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Occasional travel to different work sites may be necessary.
- Compliance with all CarMax, state, and federal regulations, including O.S.H.A. and EPA standards, as well as policies on personal protective equipment and waste disposal.
