Job Overview

Position Summary:

  • Adient One LLC is in search of a Facilities Maintenance Electrician V to enhance our operations and maintenance division.
  • The work schedule will be flexible, adapting to business requirements.
  • This role demands expertise as a qualified Industrial Electrician, focusing on troubleshooting, installation, and documentation of electrical and control systems related to facility switch gear, breaker panels, lighting, and industrial process equipment. This is not an entry-level position.
  • Responsibilities include overseeing all electrical needs within the plant and collaborating with automation and control technicians, as well as engineering teams, to support production machinery and IT requirements.
  • Involvement in the maintenance, enhancement, and development of control systems, installation of electrical sub panels/services, and integration of systems for production equipment is essential.
  • Experience with controls and instrumentation, including thermocouples and transducers, as well as handling primary voltages up to 480v, is required.
  • The role includes mentoring and training less experienced technicians as necessary.
  • Effective communication with site management and customers is crucial to understand requirements, resolve complex electrical issues, and provide solutions to manufacturing challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and rectify safety-related concerns while conducting independent equipment evaluations to preempt potential failures is expected.
  • General maintenance of equipment will be part of the responsibilities.
  • This position also involves leading the maintenance team and directing daily operations.
  • Self-motivation and strong organizational/time management skills are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the upkeep of current and future plant electrical systems.
  • Support electrical expansion initiatives within the plant.
  • Adhere to Federal, State, and Local electrical codes, with familiarity in NFPA70e.
  • Assist in the design of electrical systems.
  • Repair all electrical components within the plant and collaborate with electrical service providers, engineers, and plant leadership to optimize local grid performance.
  • Install conduit from EMT to 2 IMC around obstacles throughout the facility.
  • Assist IT with terminating cat 5 and cat 6 cabling, along with troubleshooting minor network issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair process and production machinery, including electrical control circuits from 24v to 480v AC, instrumentation devices, PLCs, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
  • Calibrate instrumentation equipment and controls for peak performance.
  • Procure parts from inventory systems, OEMs, or authorized vendors, documenting cost savings.
  • Utilize strong electrical skills to complete tasks effectively.
  • Create and modify operational procedures for equipment and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to service requests and provide feedback while ensuring compliance with codes and industry standards.
  • Propose activities to enhance maintenance methods and equipment efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work-related issues or assist colleagues in problem-solving.
  • Understand and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
  • Safely execute job functions, adhering to safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Operate various diagnostic and testing instruments to provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Utilize a range of tools and equipment, including hand tools and diagnostic hardware, to perform work.
  • Maintain a structured schedule while demonstrating flexibility in daily activities for customer benefit.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, including motivation, delegation, ownership, and effective communication skills.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, including assisting with Root Cause Analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting, maintenance shop, or manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in repairing production equipment in an industrial environment or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work in aerial lifts or scissor lifts at heights of 30 feet or more.
  • Possession of an Oregon State Electrical License or equivalent certification.

Additional Information:

  • Qualified candidates must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • A valid Driver's License may be required.

  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at client locations is necessary.
  • Flexibility for various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Some tasks may involve repetitive wrist movements.
  • Extensive walking throughout facilities may be required during the workday.
  • Ability to read and comprehend information in various documents or on computer screens is necessary.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and operating a computer keyboard for data access, messaging, and document preparation is required.
  • Attendance at meetings throughout the site and potential travel to customer or vendor locations may be necessary.
  • Effective communication with others via telephone and in group discussions, meetings, and presentations is essential.
  • Demonstrated fluency in computer use, including the full Microsoft product line.
  • Ability to move light to medium-weight materials into storage locations is required.
  • Professional and friendly interaction with all clients, even in stressful situations, is expected.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear appropriate safety gear, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats as needed.
  • Ability to cope with job-related stressors while maintaining acceptable performance levels.
  • Prior experience supporting the Intel customer is preferred.
  • An Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Technology, Industrial Mechanical, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Electrical Journeyman card is preferred.
  • Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with chemicals, precision equipment, and highly regulated materials is beneficial.
  • Experience with CNC machine tools and complex electrical systems troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Experience with robots, such as Fanuc and ABB, and precision laser systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems is a plus.
  • Experience with measurement tools for setting tolerances to OEM specifications is beneficial.
  • Experience in pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright work is a plus.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and arc welding is preferred.
