Job Title: Quarterly Lecturer - Civil Engineering

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Quarterly Lecturer in Civil Engineering to join our team at Santa Clara University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil Engineering, including lectures, labs, and discussions.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach one or more undergraduate or graduate courses in Civil Engineering, including lectures, labs, and discussions.
  • Prepare and conduct all assigned class meetings, including lectures, labs, and discussions.
  • Assign and evaluate student work appropriately, including assignments, quizzes, and exams.
  • Be available to students for consultation outside of class, including office hours and email.
  • Assign student grades appropriately and submit them on time to the Office of Student Records.
  • Conduct course assessments as required by the department.
Qualifications:
  • Earned graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching Civil Engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses in Civil Engineering, including lectures, labs, and discussions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to use technology, including learning management systems and online tools, to support teaching and learning.
