Overview:
The Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Inc. is in search of a visionary Chief Executive Officer to spearhead initiatives that address metropolitan challenges with strategic foresight and innovation.

This role is crucial for a leader who excels in a dynamic environment and has a knack for fostering creativity and productivity within teams.

The Chief Executive Officer will play a vital role in steering complex metropolitan issues, providing strategic direction, and cultivating a culture of collaboration and high performance.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, transparent, and an effective communicator, capable of anticipating and addressing the concerns of both stakeholders and the governing body.


Key Responsibilities:
Direct the organization with strategic insight and tactical proficiency, leveraging strong analytical capabilities and sound judgment.
Motivate and inspire a high-performing team, nurturing a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Formulate and execute innovative, forward-thinking strategies with a broad national perspective.
Oversee funding for transportation, project execution, and regional transportation and land use planning.
Utilize comprehensive knowledge of demographics, air quality, housing needs, and natural resource management to influence policy reforms.
Tackle urban, suburban, and rural challenges, with experience in metropolitan planning organizations being highly advantageous.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a blend of experience and education that prepares them to excel in the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Typically, this includes:


A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in professional planning, coupled with supervisory and administrative expertise in multimodal transportation planning, programming, and management.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in planning, engineering, public administration, or a closely related discipline is expected.
A master's degree is preferred.
Professional certification (AICP) is desirable.
