Job Title: Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

BayFirst National Bank is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our growing Compliance team. As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing data, conducting testing, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze HMDA reportable consumer, commercial, and mortgage loans, including their designated census tracts and demographics.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly testing of Bank's lending and deposit activities to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Ensure accurate record entries are made on the HMDA loan/application register (LAR) within thirty calendar days after the end of the calendar quarter.
  • Conduct data reviews and certify the accuracy of HMDA/CRA data.
  • Maintain an internal compliance audit log of all findings reported through various audits and testing.
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in providing required data reports and other requests, as necessary.
  • Verify loan information through imaged documents or loan origination systems.
  • Maintain and develop reports within the HMDA/CRA data software.
  • Support Compliance Officer with other compliance-related projects, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Strong competency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of bank operations, consumer and mortgage lending operations, and services is a plus.
  • Experience with Encompass, Loans PQ, and Jack Henry Silverlake preferred.
  • Strict attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of Bank Regulatory Compliance experience required.
  • Prior experience with TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and ECOA and other consumer compliance-related regulations.
  • Experience in Mortgage banking.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be detailed-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where changes to procedures are common.
  • Ability to communicate in a respectful and assertive manner.
  • Ability to input and interpret data.
