Austin Community College seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer, Executive Director of Operations to lead the College's budget, debt management, risk management, and auxiliary enterprise functions.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.

Job Description:

This senior-level position is responsible for providing leadership and managerial direction for the offices of Budget, Risk Management and Auxiliary Enterprise.

  • Provides strategic guidance and oversight of staff. Coaches, directs, mentors, evaluates, and counsels personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws.
  • Responsible for the development and management of the College's operating and capital budgets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance, budgeting, and leadership, with experience in higher education or government institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement financial strategies, prepare and present financial forecasts and reports; analyze, improve and implement financial systems and processes.
  2. Collaborate with Facilities Management and Information Technology divisions to ensure that capital projects are aligned with the College's Strategic Goals and that the projects achieve expected budget, timeline, and other success measures.
  3. Serves as one of the College's Investment Officers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Five years related work experience, including oversight of institutional budgets and/or capital projects and managerial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field and/or relevant certifications or licenses.
  • Ten years work experience in educational or governmental environments, including senior-level management experience.

Work Environment:

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, manual dexterity.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
