Life Insurance Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Life Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Integrity Marketing Group. As a Life Insurance Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and classifying risks to determine insurability and determine targeted carriers based on sale goals.
Key Responsibilities- Review and summarize lifestyle, medical, non-medical, and financial data to accurately evaluate and classify risks
- Successfully deliver competitive outcomes by applying underwriting and product experience
- Identify and address underwriting challenges within life applications, lab results, exams, and medical records
- Advocate and negotiate with insurance carriers on formal and informal offers
- Consult with agents, brokers, internal staff, insurance companies, and medical professionals to gather additional information
- Stay up-to-date on the latest medical advancements and changes in relation to underwriting
- Apply knowledge and experience to provide consistent and accurate advice on pre-sale inquiries
- Utilize web-based Agency Management System (AMS) to document UW Summary and important information related to cases
- Minimum of 10 years prior experience in life insurance underwriting
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, medical, or life sciences, or a related field
- Prior exposure to multi-facet underwriting, including medical, lifestyle, non-medical, and financial considerations
- Strong phone and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to learn and utilize online reinsurance manuals, carrier-specific manuals, and published guidelines
