Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registrar to join our team at the Dallas Independent School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance of student records, including class schedules, home addresses, telephone numbers, and attendance.
  • Ensure the proper reporting and recordkeeping related to student attendance and enrollment, including transfers, withdrawals, statistical reports, and census cards.
  • Provide assistance to students, parents, and other visitors in matters relating to enrollment, transfer, attendance, and other student-related issues.
  • Issue admit and tardy cards, as well as excuses for students leaving school.
  • Oversee the issuance of transcripts and other records for students who are new to the district.
  • Serve as the official record keeper for the campus.
  • Interface with other school districts concerning student transfer records.
  • Plan and schedule tasks, taking into consideration school priorities and the departmental calendar.
  • Understand and correctly use computer systems, including data transmission, student database inquiry, printed products, and attendance.
  • Request, send, and maintain student cumulative records using TREx.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or USA equivalency.
  • Two years of office experience with a focus on recordkeeping, preferably in a public school environment.
  • Computerized record keeping experience, preferably as a secondary school data person.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision and direction.
  • Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment/alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
