Position Title: Evening Garage Operations Supervisor

Department: Maintenance - Garage

Shift: 2nd Shift: 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM - Wednesday through Saturday

FLSA Status: Exempt - Non-Represented

Salary Range: $72,700 - $90,900

Job Summary:
Oversee daily garage operations at the designated location to guarantee efficient and timely maintenance, repair, and management of all buses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective supervision of garage activities while ensuring high levels of productivity.
  • Monitor the timeliness and completion of all garage functions.
  • Ensure the accuracy of maintenance records and documentation, including daily reports and timecards.
  • Offer training and guidance to maintenance staff, particularly new hires.
  • Conduct inspections to confirm that all buses are clean, safe, and ready for operation.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, issuing disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the building and grounds, ensuring all essential functions and equipment are operational.
  • Create work orders for necessary building repairs.
  • Investigate incidents and compile reporting data.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Automotive Maintenance, Business Administration, or a related field is required; experience may substitute for education.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience as a bus mechanic is required.
  • Experience with diagnostic software is necessary.
  • A valid Class D Wisconsin Driver's License (non-probationary) is required.
  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License or CDL permit with Passenger Endorsement and no Air Brake Restriction is required.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of diesel engines, systems, and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Familiarity with DOT and FTA regulations.
  • Knowledge of company policies and union contracts.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and related software.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and balance competing interests.
  • Capability to supervise and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and pass pre-employment skill assessments.

Physical Requirements:
Work is often conducted in an office, shop, or warehouse environment with exposure to various conditions. Physical requirements include light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force and frequently up to 10 pounds.
