Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist or Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team at the Dallas County School District R1. The successful candidate will provide support to the instructional process with students, focusing on achievement by developing appropriate communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the instructional process with students, focusing on achievement by developing appropriate communication skills.
  • Supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas.
  • Develop lesson/therapy plans.
  • Deliver group and individual instruction/therapy within established guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues.
  • Respond to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding communication, assessment information, and student progress.
  • Administer and score speech and language assessments to determine eligibility for special education services.
  • Complete paperwork and attend meetings related to the special education process.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a valid license from the State Board of Healing Arts and be certified through DESE. Experience in working with children with special needs is preferred but not required. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.

The position may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Providing support to the instructional process with students.
